Rules and Regulations

 

 

 

 

 

1.     This tournament is open only to current Chinese Bowling Congress bowlers only.

 

2.     Tournament date and location: Saturday, Feb 8, 2002, starting at 11:30 a.m. sharp.  Qualified bowlers must register before 11:15 a.m.

 

3.     Tournament location: Club 300 Bowl Inc., 146 Old Kennedy Road, Markham.

 

4.     Qualifying dates and locations:

5.     Handicap System

This tournament will be conducted on a handicap basis.  The handicap will be 60% of the difference between 210 and the bowler's highest A.B.C./W.I.B.C. sanctioned league average in the past 4 seasons and all current league average as of Dec 5, 2002 (minimum of 21 games or more). All others must bowl scratch. Chinese Bowling Congress reserves the right to accept or reject any league average reported by the bowler.  The maximum handicap is 30 pins for men and 40 pins for women.

 

6.     Qualifying Format:

All C.B.C. bowlers can qualify in any of the qualifying date and locations as specified in Section 4 above. The tournament will be divided into 3 divisions based on the current averages:

        Bowlers with average 180 and under                               -               20 bowlers will qualified.

        Bowlers with average between 181 and 195                  -               20 bowlers will qualified.

        Bowlers with average 196 and above                              -               20 bowlers will qualified.

The top 20 bowlers in each division (based on 3 games total pins plus handicap) will qualify for the tournament.  Each bowler may qualify as many times as he/she wishes.  Entry fee of $20 will be charged each time you bowl to qualify.  Bowlers are responsible for their own bowling fee in the qualifying rounds.

 

7.     Single Tournament

A total of 60 bowlers will qualify for the tournament.  Each qualified bowler will pay $60 to cover the cost of bowling and expenses in the tournament.

1st Round          - Qualified bowlers in 3 divisions will compete separately using 5 games total pins plus handicap, plus the average qualify score from the preliminary qualifying round. The top 10 bowlers from each division will advance to the 2nd round.

2nd Round         - All 30 bowlers from 3 divisions will compete together using 2 games total pins plus handicap. The top 16 bowlers will advanced to 3rd round.

3rd round           - All 16 bowlers will be competing together using 2 games total pins plus handicap. The top 8 bowlers will advance to Quarter-Final round.

Quarter-Final   - All 8 Bowlers will be competing together using 2 games total pins plus handicap. The top 4 bowlers will advance  to

                           Semi-Final Round

Semi-Final       - All 4 bowlers will be competing together using 1 games total pins plus handicap. The top 2 bowlers will advance to Final.

Final                  - Finals will be competing in 1 game elimination format.

 

8.     Double Team Tournament

     This tournament is open to all eligible C.B.C. bowlers who have entered qualifying rounds at lease once.

       Entry fee - FREE for HOME TEAM (once per person), otherwise $40 per home team, $20 for additional team.

       Additional Squads may be available depends on time and number of participants.

       3 games plus handicap (from All Squads) will decide the ranking.

 

 

9.       Prize allocation

Special Awards:           High Game on Tournament Day                                      - one bowling ball

           High Game with Handicaps on Tournament Day         - one bowling ball

 

10.   Early Bird Special Lucky Draw.     *** Sponsor by Woody’s Pro Shop ***

Each qualify entries occurred during Dec 8 – Jan 2 will qualify for the EARLY BIRD SPECIAL LUCKY DRAW. The winner will win one Bowling Ball. The lucky draw will take place on Monday Jan 6.

                                 

11.     Proper bowling dress code is required for tournament day. NO SHORTS, NO CAPS OR HATS, and all shirts must have COLLAR and SLEEVES.

 

12.     Failure to report incorrect average shall disqualify the score if it results in higher handicap in the tournament.  Corrections in averages may be allowed up the starting of the tournament.

 

13.     Tournament Committee reserve the right to check all identification and/or refuse entry for bowlers who are not eligible for this tournament.  The Committee also reserves the right to weigh and register the balls used in this tournament.  Balls found not within A.B.C./W.I.B.C. specification rule will result in disqualification.

 

14.     This is a non-sanctioned tournament.  However, A.B.C./W.I.B.C. tournament rules will apply.

 

15.     Bowlers who have received an official A.B.C or affiliated association re-rate must notify the Tournament Committee before bowling.  Failure to report this information will result in disqualification.

 

16.     Bowlers Chinese Bowling Congress reserves the right to accept or refuse entry to the tournament.  Any disputes in the tournament will be settled by the Tournament Committee appointed by the Chinese Bowling Congress.
